B&Q cuts 2000W heater to £25 in clearance sale

B&Q has placed its GoodHome 2000W White Convector Heater on clearance, cutting the price from £40 to £25 ahead of colder weather. The appliance costs 52.6p per hour to run at maximum power and is described by shoppers as “fantastic” at warming rooms “very quickly.”

Heater features and availability

B&Q’s product description states: “The GoodHome 2000W White Convector Heater is perfect for keeping you warm during cold seasons. Easier to control, with its two heating speeds and digital thermostat, you can also set the timer up to 24 hours. Its integrated turbo fan function will heat your rooms quickly and evenly. Its tilt and overheating protection will ensure maximum safety when using your convector heater.”

Stock is limited due to the clearance status. The heater can only be ordered online for click-and-collect at a local branch, with some stores offering pick-up “in as little as 15 minutes” at no extra cost.

Shopper reviews and alternatives

Customer reviews have been largely positive. One buyer wrote: “What a great heater. My boiler packed up so no heating and this little gem was fantastic. Heat’s up a large room in no time. In fact, I had to turn it off because the room was so hot!” Another said: “Bought to use as backup heating in my study. Works really well.” A third added: “Excellent for heating a small room in an old house.”

However, not all feedback was favourable. One customer claimed: “The fan on this heater isn’t great, therefore the heat is poor.” Another noted: “Downside is the control panel is on the side of the heater, so you need to kneel on the floor to switch it on, so it would not be ideal for the elderly. It would be better if it came with a remote control or if the control panel were on top of the heater.”

Similar devices are available elsewhere, including Dunelm’s 2000W Convector Heater at £28, the Fine Elements 2kW Slim Convector Heater from Wickes at £23, and the Russell Hobbs RHCVHTF2004 Portable Convector Heater from Currys at £46.99.

Despite some criticism, the majority of reviews praised the product. A five-star review stated: “We bought this to heat up a converted garage, which is now a cold dining room. It works very quickly in the 10’ x 15’ space and is so effective, we have to turn it down!”
