Bold Street venue Cheers Big Ears closes after four years

Cheers Big Ears, a venue on Bold Street in Liverpool city centre, has closed its doors “for the last time” after four years. The site, which also housed Tops Dart Club on the first floor, announced the closure in a post shared on Instagram today (November 2).

Four years on Bold Street

Cheers Big Ears opened in April 2022, taking over the space formerly used by The Crafty Chandler, which shut in the autumn of 2021. The venue offered a selection of Detroit-style pizza, small plates and sandwiches, as well as a cocktail and drinks menu.

Tops Dart Club, an interactive games area with state-of-the-art digital games, occupied the first floor space above the venue.

Something new is coming

The Instagram post read: “Cheers and goodbye. We've closed our doors for the last time. We'd like to say thank you to all of our regulars who we've met over these past four years."

The post added: “But something new is coming..." and the caption said customers should keep their eyes peeled.

Reaction from customers and neighbours

Customers and neighbouring businesses responded to the news. @be_james_be_good said: “Aww no love cheers." McCooleys, which operates a neighbouring bar, said: “The best neighbours! Sad to see yous go." @snoozey76 said: “Absolutely gutted, thanks for the memories."
