Bodycare, the value health and beauty retailer, is making a comeback to UK high streets after closing all its stores last year. The company has announced plans to open 17 new stores, with 15 of them set to launch within a year.
Return from Administration
The beauty chain collapsed into administration in September last year, shutting all 147 outlets, including multiple sites in Greater Manchester. However, in April this year, the retailer announced its return after being acquired by an investment group led by former Body Shop and Molton Brown CEO Charles Denton.
According to the company's website, the new stores will feature a 'Bodycare Studio' format, including content creator studios, demonstration zones, and live broadcast studios as part of a digital-first strategy.
First Store to Open
The first store to reopen is in Sheffield at The Moor Shopping Centre, which is expected to welcome customers this month. A message on the storefront reads: 'Sheffield, we’re so back.' The Moor Sheffield's Facebook page confirmed in June that the location will be the first of six new stores to open, stating: 'Shoppers can look forward to a brand-new “Bodycare Studio” format, including in-store demonstration zones, feature screens, live broadcast studios and creator spaces.'

The 17 new store locations include: The Moor, Sheffield; Highcross, Leicester; Derbion, Derby; Merry Hill, Brierley Hill; The Broadway, Bradford; The Mall, Blackburn; St Johns, Leeds; Mill Gate, Bury; The Centre, Livingston; The Bridges, Sunderland; Cwmbran Centre, Cwmbran; Metrocentre, Gateshead; The Fort, Glasgow; Frasers Plus Luton, Luton; Golden Square, Warrington; Grosvenor Shopping, Northampton; and Trinity Walk, Wakefield.
