Shoppers can save money by opting for a £5 lamp at B&M that rivals a more expensive lookalike version available at Next. The bargain superstore has recently reduced the price of the Concrete Table Lamp from £10 to £5, while Next's Ecru Textured Ceramic Table Lamps, sold in a pack of two for £95, work out at £47.50 each.
Both lamps feature an urn-shaped base and a similar tapered shade. However, there are differences beyond price. B&M's lamp weighs 2.77kg and measures D28 x H47.5cm, whereas Next's version weighs 4.5kg and is taller at 55cm and 33cm deep.
B&M describes its lamp as a way to "add some style to your home" and "create some stylish lighting on a desk or table." Next's product description says its lamps bring "a calming aesthetic" with a "sophisticated duo" featuring a ceramic base in a soothing grey/ecru tone.
Next's lamps have earned a five-star review from one shopper who called them "gorgeous." B&M also sells a similar £20 Nara Concrete Table Lamp, which resembles Next's Grey Lydford Large Table Lamp at £110.
