Blackpool Named Cheapest UK Seaside Spot in Europe for 2026
Blackpool Cheapest UK Seaside Spot in Europe for 2026

Blackpool has been named the most affordable UK seaside destination for summer 2026, ranking ninth overall in a list of the cheapest European holiday spots, according to new research from credit card brand Aqua. The study compared the cost of a week-long stay for two in July, including flights, accommodation, meals, attractions, and fuel.

Blackpool's Affordability Stands Out

Blackpool boasts the lowest average prices for local attractions among the top 10, at just £31, and fuel costs averaging £35. The only UK destination to make the list, it offers a budget-friendly alternative for Brits seeking a staycation amid rising flight costs. Nearly half (47%) of Brits with travel plans have cut back due to higher expenses, the research noted.

Albania topped the overall list, with return flights at £100 and a week's stay for two in July costing £381. Other affordable European destinations included Prague, Porto, Madrid, Lisbon, Costa Del Sol, Budapest, Tenerife, and Lanzarote.
