Argos cuts Samsung 50-inch 4K TV to £289 lowest price

Argos has cut the price of the Samsung 50 Inch Smart 4K UHD HDR Crystal TV to £289, described as its 'lowest price' yet, down from the previous £349. The deal comes as more people look to upgrade their televisions for cosy nights in at home.

The TV features a Crystal Processor that provides intelligent 4K picture enhancement, with the brand saying users can 'experience greater clarity, depth and detail in every frame'. It also offers 'crystal-clear sound' and runs on Tizen OS, giving access to Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Xbox and more, plus thousands of extra shows and movies on Samsung TV Plus.

Shoppers praise picture quality

The TV has received high ratings on Argos' site, with one shopper saying: "I bought this TV around two weeks ago, looking for something bigger. I bought this as I saw it was a good price; it arrived the same day, and it was very easy to install and set up."

The same shopper added: "The picture is brilliant; I highly recommend it for the price. For a 50" 4K TV, this is excellent. Very easy TV to navigate around and very responsive. I don't really understand the AI around it, as I don't think it's needed with a TV."

A second customer wrote: "Bought this last week. I'm very happy with the purchase; it was easy to set up and has a quality picture. Would happily recommend this to anyone." A third added: "I'm so happy with this TV. The picture and sound are fantastic."

Features and alternatives

The TV includes Object Tracking Sound Lite, which tracks on-screen action and enhances audio from left-to-right as entertainment unfolds. It also has a slim, seamless design with a smooth back and clutter-free cabling. The Gaming Hub brings together console and streaming games from Xbox, Amazon Luna, GeForce NOW, Blacknut and more.

Some shoppers noted minor drawbacks. One wrote: "Love this TV, the picture quality is great. My only slight issue is the sound quality isn't as high as I was expecting, but still overall very good." Another commented: "It's just the right size for the room on a swivel bracket. The picture is great, very happy with it. Only disappointment is that I could not install BBC iPlayer."

For those considering other options, Currys has the LG 50" LED 4K HDR Smart TV 2026 for £299, down from £329.99. Debenhams offers the Hisense 40" QLED Full HD HDR Smart TV for £249, down from £349. The Samsung 50 Inch Smart 4K UHD HDR Crystal TV remains available from Argos at £289.
