Antler's trunk, with its 1950s-inspired design (the brand was founded in 1914), features reinforced aluminium corners—a significant advantage for frequent travellers whose luggage often takes a beating. The rounded, telescopic handles are designed for extra comfort when lifting or dragging the case. Available in three colourways—sandstone, navy, or forest green—the reviewer opted for green to match their brown carry-on bag.
Design and Practicality
The boxier, tall shape of the large trunk is preferred over an average large suitcase, as it feels more slimline and glides smoothly when stood upright vertically rather than being dragged. Inside, two compression straps sit over an opaque, envelope-like pocket, effectively flattening ten days' worth of clothes in one half of the case. On the opposite side, a zippable compartment is topped by a sheer pocket, ideal for storing items like K-beauty products.
Performance and Handling
Even after extensive shopping, the case was not filled to capacity, and at 21kg, it felt manageable to lift in the absence of lifts or stairs. With a large hand luggage bag on top, the case was easy to manoeuvre between cabs and trains. The bag has no zip; instead, it latches shut with a lock system. This straightforward mechanism made the case feel extra secure and added to its sleek appearance.
Additional Features
An Antler-branded laundry bag included inside proved handy for compressing washing. The only minor grievance was the lack of a divide down the middle of the sheer zip pocket, which would prevent items from shifting during transit. However, considering its durability, style, and practicality, the trunk has solidified Antler as a favourite luggage brand.
