An American woman's first trip to Greggs has gone viral on TikTok, after she expressed confusion over the bakery's meal deal. Sarah, known as @kidsmealprincess on the platform, regularly documents her experiences trying British food. However, her initial visit to Greggs at a service station left her unimpressed.
In her first video, Sarah ordered a meal deal for £5, choosing an egg, ham, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise sandwich and a drink. She praised the sandwich as 'well presented' and 'stuffed', but argued it was not worth £5, suggesting it should include crisps and a sausage roll. Viewers quickly pointed out that the standard Greggs lunchtime deal is cheaper, and that she had been upcharged at the service station.
Encouraged by comments, Sarah returned to Greggs to try the recommended staples: a steak bake, a sausage roll, and a chicken bake. She rated the steak bake a '10 out of 10', calling it 'incredible' and her favourite. The sausage roll she found 'pretty good', while the chicken bake also impressed. However, she was less enthusiastic about her mocha, describing it as 'not the best'.
The videos have sparked a lively debate among Greggs fans, with many advising Sarah to stick to the pastries rather than sandwiches. One user said: 'Stick to the amazing sausage rolls / slices. Everyone I know loves Greggs, none would ever buy a sarnie.' Another recommended: 'Try a Steak Bake and a Sausage Roll obviously.'
