Aldi is reducing prices on more than 330 products across all its UK stores, aiming to help families save during the summer holidays. The supermarket giant, which operates 1,080 stores nationwide, has invested a further £100 million in lowering costs on everyday food and household items.
Price reductions and savings
The latest cuts mean Aldi has now dropped prices on over 1,000 products this year, with a total investment of £300 million to keep grocery bills low. Selected British steaks see significant savings: the 21-Day Matured Sirloin Steak is now £4.49 (down 80p), and the 21-Day Matured Ribeye Steak is £4.59 (down 80p). Fresh produce includes 40p off packs of four nectarines and 22p off honeydew melons.
Cheese lovers can buy the Specially Selected Cheddar range (350g) for £2.99, saving 40p. Diced Chicken Breast (600g) is now £3.99, reduced by 30p, and Filled Pasta has dropped to £2.19. Non-food savings include Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion at £2.99 (down from £3.29).
Summer Support Scheme and expansion
Aldi has also relaunched its Summer Support Scheme, giving away £50 grocery shops to families every day throughout July and August. Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: "It's never been more important that everyday grocery essentials and family favourites remain affordable. We're committed to keeping prices low on popular products because we know it can make a real difference, helping families to make the most of the summer."
The retailer confirmed plans to open more stores, with 25 priority locations identified. Aldi will invest over £370 million in new stores to reach a long-term goal of 1,500 stores nationwide. The priority locations include Ayr South, Blantyre, Canvey Island, Chaddesden, Cleethorpes, Croxteth, Exeter Central, Falkirk Central, Gateshead – Team Valley, Guildford, Harrogate, Hereford, Huddersfield, Leeds Horsforth Low Lane, Lincoln, Monmouth, Newcastle (Central), Oxford, Plymouth West, St Albans, Woking, Whitby, Warwick, Walthamstow, and Bath.
