Aldi Christmas 2026 range reviewed: £7.99 dessert and cheese tower shine

With just over two months to go until Christmas, Aldi has revealed its festive range for 2026, and the standout items include a £13.99 cheese tower, a £4.99 vegetarian Wellington and a returning £7.99 Belgian chocolate dessert.

Aldi is the last stop on a festive tour that has already covered Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, ASDA and Waitrose. The retailer's quality-for-price reputation is a recurring theme, and Which? recently named Aldi the cheapest supermarket for September — its seventh consecutive victory this year.

Cheese selection takes centre stage

The Specially Selected Luxury Truckle Tower (£13.99, 1kg) features a new creamy Wensleydale with Cranberry, Blueberry & Sloe Gin, a new Truffle & Honey Cheddar, the Extra Mature Coastal Cheddar and Aged Red Leicester. The Truffle & Honey Cheddar stood out for its earthy flavour without being overly rich or cloying.

For those who prefer a sharper bite, the Extra Mature Coastal Cheddar is a strong option. Aldi is also stocking super-sized truckles at £2.69, shaped into classic Christmas icons.

Vegetarian main and dessert highlights

The new Specially Selected Cauliflower Cheese Wellington (£4.99, 400g) pairs cauliflower cheese with golden, flaky pastry, offering a genuinely exciting option for non-meat eaters. Beetroot and nut Wellingtons have been done extensively, so this twist on a roast dinner staple makes for an indulgent centrepiece.

For dessert, Aldi is bringing back the Specially Selected Ultimate Belgian Chocolate Gold Coin (£7.99, 470g) for a second year, alongside a new smaller version — the Mini Gold Coin Bites (£3.99, 162g). Both feature a gold Belgian milk chocolate shell with caramel sauce, chocolate ganache and honeycomb pieces. Other returning confectionery includes the Chocolate and Caramel Christmas Trees (price TBC) and the Moser Roth Chocolate Place Setting Kit (£3.99, 120g), which comes with an edible transfer for decorating.

Seafood and final thoughts

For smoked salmon enthusiasts, the Specially Selected The Ultimate Himalayan Salt Aged Smoked Salmon (£3.99, 100g) is described as flaky, juicy and tender, with a price tag that is hard to argue with. The Specially Selected Seafood Sharing Ramekin (£5.49, 260g) contains king prawns, Argentinian red shrimp and Patagonian scallops in a creamy cheddar, sauvignon blanc and brandy sauce.

Aldi is once again demonstrating that premium Christmas fare doesn't have to come at a premium price, offering quality at a more affordable point. At a time when the cost of living crisis feels daunting, Aldi is committed to providing quality without emptying wallets.
