Aldi has released a teaser for its 2026 Christmas advert, and shoppers believe a famous Scouser could hold the key clue. The supermarket's first glimpse of the advertisement shows Kevin the Carrot and his daughter Chantenay searching for their missing floret friend, Cauli Dog.
The 10-second teaser opens with Chantenay wishing for Cauli Dog's safe return after realising the family pet has disappeared. Kevin and Chantenay are then seen putting up lost posters as they begin their search, before the teaser cuts off, leaving the mystery of Cauli Dog's whereabouts unanswered.
Cauli Dog's Disappearance Sparks Fan Theories
Cauli Dog won viewers' hearts last Christmas when he carried the diamond ring for Kevin's proposal to Katie. Aldi said his sudden disappearance is set to leave fans searching for clues ahead of the full Christmas advert reveal, and it seems fans may already have their first clue.
Halewood's Danny Beard, set to play Paul O'Grady in the upcoming production 'Savage', has been spotted in a dramatic cauliflower coat and Cruella-inspired look. The suspicious timing has prompted fans to question whether the RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner's unusual appearance could have anything to do with Cauli Dog's disappearance.
Danny has been spotted in Barking wearing the statement coat, black gloves, towering heels, jet-black sunglasses, and a black-and-white wig. On X, one fan made the connection, posting: "Is it a coincidence that Kevin the Carrot's Cauli-dog has gone missing and @thedannybeard has been spotted wearing this @AldiUK?".
Aldi Responds to the Speculation
Aldi added to the mystery when it responded: "We've got our top dogs on the case, @thedannybeard."
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: "Cauli Dog stole the nation's hearts last Christmas, so we know people will be desperate to find out where he's got to. Kevin and Chantenay are determined to bring their little floret friend home in time for Christmas, but we're keeping the rest of the story firmly under wraps for now."
What's Next for Aldi's Festive Launch
It comes after Aldi confirmed to the ECHO whether customers will be able to get their hands on its gold engagement ring or not this Christmas. As part of its 2025 festive offerings, the supermarket celebrated a decade of its mascot, Kevin the Carrot, with his on-screen proposal to girlfriend, Katie.
Alongside this, a limited collection of 'Carrot' gold engagement rings launched. The rings, crafted in partnership with British jeweller Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery, each feature a carrot-shaped orange cubic zirconia, flanked by two marquise peridot accents, a tribute to Kevin's leafy top.
However, it has been announced that the rings won't be returning this year, and instead, something else will take its place as part of the 2026 Christmas launch. As with many Aldi SpecialBuys, once they are gone, they are gone for good.
