In a direct cleaning comparison, Elbow Grease washing-up spray outperformed Fairy Liquid Skip The Soak on air fryer baskets, leaving them spotless on the first wipe and costing significantly less.
Cleaning trial details
Angela Patrone, a senior lifestyle reporter, tested both products on her air fryer after cooking tender chicken in both compartments. She applied 10 sprays to each basket and left them for roughly 10 minutes.
The Elbow Grease spray, priced around £1.19, was compared against Fairy Liquid Skip The Soak, which cost approximately £3.99. The Elbow Grease product was £2.80 cheaper.
Results and observations
During spraying, the Elbow Grease solution had a considerably more pleasant aroma, while the Fairy Liquid alternative gave off a distinctly strong chemical odour. After the wait, the grease had broken down in both baskets.
The Elbow Grease basket emerged entirely spotless on the initial wipe, while the Fairy Liquid basket required slightly more attention in the middle of the tray. After rinsing under running water, the Elbow Grease basket had no lingering marks, but a handful of stubborn greasy spots remained on the Fairy Liquid basket, though nothing requiring intensive scrubbing.
Conclusion
Both products proved their capacity to break down grease on the air fryer baskets, but the Elbow Grease washing-up spray emerged as the clear winner, representing outstanding value for money at its lower price.
