7 Brew, an American drive-thru coffee chain with more than 800 locations, is reportedly exploring plans to open its first UK sites. The hospitality trade publication Propel first reported the news.
Rapid US Expansion
The chain, which operates drive-thru “stands” across 38 US states, claims to serve over one million drinks daily. Its menu includes quirky offerings such as banana bread cold brew and bubble gum lemonade, alongside thousands of possible combinations spanning coffee, energy drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.
7 Brew’s first stand opened in 2017 in Rogers, Arkansas. It has since grown to become America’s second-largest drive-thru-only coffee chain behind Dutch Bros. CNN reported in May that the chain has grown rapidly but many Americans remain unaware of it.
UK Potential and Growth Plans
The brand is expected to open more than 400 locations during 2026 and had signed development agreements covering 3,100 prospective sites by the end of last year. No UK locations have been confirmed, and the chain has yet to announce a proposed opening date.
Investment firm Blackstone acquired a minority stake in the business in 2024 to support its ongoing expansion. The company is headed by chief executive John Davidson and runs on a franchise model. Its potential move into the UK market would come as the brand launches its first mobile app, giving American customers the ability to order ahead, personalise drinks and earn reward points. 7 Brew has been approached for comment.
Other US Brands Heading to UK
The news of a potential arrival comes as another American food brand also prepares to make its British debut. Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls is set to open its first UK restaurant at London's Spitalfields Market, 2C Lamb Street. The chain, which serves Maine-style lobster in toasted rolls, is also weighing up plans to open between five and ten further British restaurants within 15 to 18 months. Mason's currently operates around 45 US restaurants and has already expanded into Italy, with locations in Milan, Florence and Venice. An opening date for the London venue and UK pricing have yet to be confirmed.
