Bargain hair mask wins over shoppers
A £3.25 hair mask from Sainsbury's has won over customers looking to combat the effects of heat on their hair. The Pantene Repair & Protect Keratin Protect Hair Mask is currently part of the supermarket's Nectar Card summer sale, reduced from £6.50 for cardholders.
The treatment is designed to give dry and damaged hair an intensive boost. Pantene says it is formulated with their Pro-V formula and Active Nutri-Plex, alongside 50% more bond-protecting agents than the previous version. It aims to nourish dry and damaged hair while helping to protect against the effects of styling, and can help repair visible damage in just one use.
Shoppers share glowing reviews
One customer wrote: “I bought this a week ago and my goodness my hair is so soft and shiny. I have multicoloured hair and this mask is super nourishing. Hair is incredibly soft and looks so healthy. The shine is impeccable.”
Another added: “So I started using this once a week and left it for a good 3 to 4 hours to help my bleached hair and I'm shook. Honestly after rinsing and drying my hair felt so good and soft I was thrilled. The heat can play havoc with my hair and this has helped massively.”
Other summer sale bargains
The mask is not the only haircare deal in the Sainsbury's Nectar Card summer sale. The Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect Hair Conditioner is also £3.25, down from £6.50, designed to help restore hair bonds with a unique Pro-V blend to avoid a greasy finish.
For those seeking a summer glow, the Bondi Sands Gradual Tan Face Lotion 50ml is £6.65, down from £10. It contains shea butter to moisturise while building a gradual tan, and is suitable for sensitive skin, non-comedogenic, cruelty free and vegan.
Also available is the Olay Vitamin C+ AHA Day Face Cream 50ml for £15, down from £38. It promises results within 24 hours, supercharged with vitamin C+ AHA, antioxidant vitamin E and 99% pure niacinamide.
Alternatives and mixed reviews
At Boots, the Dove Damage Rescue 10-in-1 Repairing Mask 270ml is £5, down from £10, promising to help repair up to three years of hair damage. Lookfantastic offers the L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Molecular Rinse-Off Hair Mask 250ml for £54, which has a silky, creamy formula.
While reviews on Sainsbury’s were positive, a four-star Boots review noted: “I found weekly use a bit too much, and surprisingly, it didn’t make my hair as soft as the conditioner. I might try leaving it on longer next time.” Another Boots reviewer commented: “I've been using it for a month now, my hair has never felt better! I use it once a week as part of my hair care routine and my hair feels lighter and healthier - and it smells amazing.”
