A cleaning expert has shared a quick and natural method to banish stubborn grease from oven glass in under three minutes. Michelle from Crafty Morning demonstrated the technique on her own oven door, which she described as having 'grease splatters out of this world'. The hack uses only kitchen foil, bicarbonate of soda, and hot water.
Traditional methods, including a magic eraser with water, had failed to shift the grime. Michelle explained that the trick works by exploiting the chemical reaction between alkaline bicarbonate of soda and acidic food residue. 'Barely even pushing, the grease started to disappear,' she said after scrubbing with crumpled foil for one to two minutes.
To use the method, splash about three-quarters of a cup of hot water over the oven glass, then sprinkle a generous amount of bicarbonate of soda over the surface. Leave it for 30 seconds, then crumple some kitchen foil and scrub in circular motions for one to two minutes. Finally, wipe away any residue with clean water and dry with kitchen roll.
Michelle described the result as 'so satisfying' and noted that the entire process takes around three minutes. Bicarbonate of soda is non-toxic, inexpensive, and highly effective at breaking down grease, making it a popular choice for eco-friendly cleaning.
