Morrisons Recalls Maple & Bacon Snack Over Allergy Risk

Morrisons has issued an urgent product recall for its Maple & Bacon Back of the Net snack, warning customers not to eat the product due to a potential undeclared milk allergen. The recall, announced via the Food Standards Agency (FSA), affects packs with a best-before date of 22 August 2026.

Recall Details and Health Risk

The FSA notice stated: "Morrisons is recalling Morrisons Maple & Bacon Back of the Net because some packs contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. Some packs may have been packed with the wrong product which contains milk." This poses a possible health risk for individuals with a milk allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Customers who have purchased the affected product are advised: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund." Morrisons confirmed that no receipt is needed for the refund.

No Other Products Affected

Morrisons emphasized that no other products are affected by this issue. In a statement, the supermarket said: "We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."

Recent Fruit Pot Recalls

This recall follows a separate incident earlier in the week involving multiple supermarkets recalling fruit pots over potential salmonella contamination. Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, M&S, Sainsbury's, and Morrisons all recalled a variety of fruit products. The affected items included:

An FSA spokesman said: "If you have bought any of the products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund." Those infected with Salmonella typically experience fever, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps. Affected individuals should remain at home until symptom-free for at least 48 hours.
