The All England Club has confirmed a record total player compensation pool of £64.2 million for the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, marking a 20 per cent increase from the £53.5 million distributed in 2025. This represents the largest single-year growth in the tournament's history.
First Round Singles Prize Money
Players competing in the opening round of the main singles draws will receive £80,000 each, a 21.2 per cent rise from the £66,000 awarded in 2025. The increase ensures lower-seeded competitors are better rewarded for reaching the main draw.
Singles Champions
The men's and ladies' singles champions will each earn £3.6 million, up from £3 million in 2025. Last year's men's champion Jannik Sinner took home £3 million.
Qualifying Rounds
The total purse for qualifying has increased by 25 per cent. Players eliminated in the first round of qualifying will still receive £20,000.
Doubles and Mixed Doubles
Men's and ladies' doubles teams competing in the first round will receive £18,000 per pair, to be split equally. Mixed doubles teams earn £5,200 per duo in the preliminary round.
Wheelchair Singles
Players in the first round of the wheelchair singles tournaments will receive £12,800 each.
The increases reflect the All England Club's commitment to supporting players across all events, according to tournament officials.
