Odense are closing in on a deal for Aberdeen’s Topi Keskinen, with the Danish club tabling an offer worth more than £1 million for the Finnish international. Keskinen has been given permission to travel to Denmark for talks, and a deal is expected to be concluded over the weekend.
Profit for the Dons
Aberdeen are set to make a profit on the transfer, with several add-ons included in the deal. Record Sport exclusively revealed Odense’s interest in Keskinen last month, and interest has since ramped up. Hungarian side Debrecen had several bids turned down, while Croatian side Hajduk Split also expressed interest.
Aberdeen signed the 23-year-old from HJK in 2024. The Dons were determined to make a profit on Keskinen and to get good value for their Scottish Cup winner. They have achieved that and will also earn additional income through add-ons.
Replacement Plans
Manager Stephen Robinson will now look to bring in another winger to replace Keskinen. Robinson has already revamped his squad, and sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has brought in additional funds with the sale of Alexander Jensen to Elfsborg. Nicolas Milanovic is also set to return to Western Sydney Wanderers, and Marco Lazetic is being sold to FC Noah.
The Dons head to Northern Ireland to take on Linfield in their final pre-season game on Saturday. They kick off competitive action against Brora Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup next week.
