Amazon has reduced the price of the Nespresso Vertuo Plus coffee machine from £139 to £75.98, offering shoppers a saving of 45%. The deal, reported by the Mirror, brings the price down by more than £55 for coffee lovers looking to upgrade their morning routine.
Machine Features and Capsule Compatibility
The Nespresso Vertuo Plus works with Nespresso Vertuo capsules and can prepare four cup sizes: a 40ml espresso, an 80ml double espresso, a 150ml gran lungo, and a large 230ml mug. The purchase includes a complimentary welcome set of 12 capsules, while a wider range of pod varieties and flavours is available on the Nespresso website.
The machine heats up in 40 seconds and is operated with a single button. It features an automatic pod ejection system that holds up to 10 pods, a detachable water tank for easy refills, and an auto-shut off function designed to save energy.
Shoppers Share Their Experiences
Amazon customers have responded positively to the Vertuo Plus. One shopper said they were "completely in love with this machine, and can't imagine life without it now!" A self-proclaimed "coffee snob" praised the "range of pods," noting that "the different flavours are subtle and also exciting and are much better for you than the sickly syrups."
Another shopper, who traded in their Sage Barista Express for this Nespresso model, described it as a "more convenient alternative" to the pricier machine. "I'm happy I made the swap," they said, "I'm now drinking coffee when I'm at home again everyday." They added: "I think the selling point is the experience using the machine. It's so easy to fill up the water tank, load the pod and click the button."
While one user noted the machine "doesn't go in the dishwasher," they added that "once the coffee is made, you walk away and it turns itself off automatically." The same shopper said "it's actually easier and quicker than brewing a mug of tea from a tea bag and a kettle."
Drawbacks and Alternatives
One drawback mentioned by a shopper was that "the coffee pods can only be purchased from Nespresso," explaining that "they have utilised a bar reading system which means you can only use their pods." Despite this, they said "the machine is very good... it makes very nice coffee at just the press of a button."
For those who prefer milky coffees, the machine does not include a milk frother, but the Aeroccino Milk Frother is available for £79 on the Nespresso website. Other alternatives include the Breville Barista Slimline Espresso Machine at Currys for £239.99, which has an integrated coffee grinder and steam wand, and the Philips 2200 Series Coffee Machine at Argos, reduced from £320 to £270, which can also be used with ground coffee.
