Lidl has introduced a new floor lamp priced at £14.99, which it describes as 'long life' and 'glare-free', offering a budget-friendly alternative to a similar model at B&Q that costs £54.99.
Lidl's LIVARNO LED Floor Lamp
The LIVARNO LED Floor Lamp, available in white or black, features an adjustable height up to 166cm and a flexible gooseneck. It includes a 4-stage touch dimmer on the lamp head, a surface-friendly base, and comes with a 3-year warranty. The lamp operates at 220-240V~ 50/60Hz, with a total power consumption of max 6W. The lamp head length is 28cm, base diameter is 21cm, and cable length is 1.8m.
According to Lidl, the lamp provides 'pleasant, glare-free lighting for crafting, reading or working' and uses an 'energy-saving and long-life LED module with warm white light'. The product is available for in-store collection only at Lidl's over 1,000 UK locations.
Comparison with B&Q's Alternative
B&Q is stocking the Double Tube LED Floor Lamp at £54.99, nearly four times the price of Lidl's model. The B&Q product description states: 'This flexible floor lamp is ideal for the modern home. It has two independently adjustable tubes containing built in led bulbs providing 700 Lumens brightness over your work area. Ideally suited for art, craftwork, as well as reading.'
While the two lamps appear similar in design, B&Q offers online ordering with home delivery, whereas Lidl requires customers to check availability at their local store. Shoppers can find more information on both retailers' websites.
