Rock star Liam Gallagher has invested a significant portion of his earnings from the monumental Oasis reunion tour into a sprawling country estate in the Cotswolds, according to reports. The former Oasis frontman, 53, is said to have paid £4.25 million for the luxurious eight-bedroom property, marking a major lifestyle change after months on the road.
From Stadiums to Stables: Gallagher's Country Retreat
The impressive Gloucestershire mansion, located near Cirencester, sits on five acres of land and offers the ultimate countryside escape. The estate boasts extensive amenities including a swimming pool, tennis courts, stables, and a separate two-bedroom cottage. A source close to the singer revealed his motivation for the purchase, stating he was eager to experience country living after the whirlwind of the global Live '25 Tour.
"Liam loves the countryside and the house is the perfect retreat following the mammoth Oasis tour," the insider told The Sun on Sunday. They added that his rescue dog, Buttons, was also a key factor, with Gallagher seeking ample outdoor space. The singer, known for his love of hosting, is reportedly looking forward to welcoming friends and family to his new home.
A House with a Sporting Pedigree
In a curious twist for the die-hard Manchester City fan, the property was previously owned by Tony Adams, the former Arsenal and England football captain. Adams, 59, who later appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, purchased the home in 2002 with his wife Poppy Teacher before later listing it for sale.
This acquisition is not Gallagher's first foray into the Cotswolds property market. Last year, he rented a nearby mansion with his fiancée Debbie Gwyther for a reported £19,000 a month, and was known to be actively searching for a permanent base in the area. He now joins a host of celebrities in the region, including neighbours David Beckham, Simon Cowell, and Kate Moss.
Funding a New Life After a Monumental Tour
The funds for this substantial property investment stem from one of the most successful tours in recent history. In July, Liam reunited with his brother Noel for Oasis's first live performances in 16 years. The ensuing 41-date Live '25 Tour spanned 13 countries across five continents, with recent figures suggesting it generated a staggering £303 million.
Gallagher has credited the demanding tour schedule with prompting a positive lifestyle overhaul, leading him to quit smoking and drinking to protect his voice. He told fans, "Oasis saved my life... stopping drinking and smoking are sacrifices that needed to be made."
Despite the tour's success, the festive period brought a setback, with Gallagher revealing he was struck down by norovirus over Christmas, leaving him unable to eat on Christmas Day. He has since reassured followers he is recovering well. Representatives for Liam Gallagher declined to comment when contacted by The Mirror about the property purchase.
