Sarah Michelle Gellar and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are preparing to part with their stunning Los Angeles home after more than a decade. The 49-year-old Buffy The Vampire Slayer star and the 50-year-old She's All That actor have listed the property, situated in LA's affluent Brentwood neighborhood, for $10.5 million.
Cindy Ambuehl of Christie's International Real Estate Southern California, who has known the celebrity couple for over 25 years, is managing the listing. Ambuehl spoke with the Daily Mail about the appeal of their family-friendly five-bedroom, six-bathroom home. 'It's an incredibly private property located in the exclusive Mandeville Canyon area, surrounded by sycamores, oak trees, and beautiful tree-lined streets,' she said. 'The home has an exceptional warmth to it, with oversized, gracious rooms that are perfect for both family living and entertaining.' These spacious rooms span 7,300 square feet across three stories.
Location and Features
Ambuehl emphasized that while the home 'feels peaceful and tucked away,' its Brentwood location provides access to Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades, as well as top schools, restaurants, shops, and Westside conveniences. The couple moved into the home in 2013 and later rented it out for $60,000 per month, but Ambuehl clarified it was 'never intended as a long-term rental.' Instead, they were helping a family who lost their home in the devastating LA fires of January 2025.
Ambuehl noted that Gellar and Prinze have 'special memories' of the home, where they raised their daughter Charlotte, 16, and son Rocky, 13. She praised the stars as an 'exceptional couple and truly remarkable parents,' adding that their children are 'incredibly respectful, thoughtful, and grounded.'
Interior and Design
The home features a picturesque front staircase in the foyer and a second staircase from the kitchen. The kitchen boasts a spacious island and high-quality appliances, while the adjacent living room includes French doors leading to the pool area and a fireplace. The master bedroom on the second floor offers a fireside sitting area, a private balcony, an en suite bathroom with double sinks, and a walk-in closet. The attic has been converted into a game room with vaulted ceilings.
Ambuehl confirmed that the couple, who have already moved to Encino after purchasing a home there off-market for $12.4 million, are not planning to join the celebrity exodus from California. She described the Brentwood property as 'very well priced for the market' and praised its 'use of space and overall floor plan,' which captures the California lifestyle. The home was designed and built in 2006 by Greg and Grace Shain of Shain Development.
