£6.7m Beauty 'Disneyland' Opens Near Liverpool

The first 250 customers at P. Louise City Trafford Palazzo will receive a free PR box on arrival when the grand opening takes place on Sunday July 5. The ECHO was among the first to preview the space, which features pink castle facades, a massive beauty vault, a P. Louise supermarket, 'petrol station', hair salon, 'movie theatre', 'florist', and more.

A £20,000 Investment Sparked a £6.7m Empire

Founder and CEO Paige Williams started her business with a £20,000 investment from her nana. Now, she is opening a £6.7m beauty 'Disneyland' inside Manchester's Trafford Palazzo. Spanning two floors and 19,000 sq ft, the 'world first concept' combines shopping, entertainment, and education under one roof.

TikTok's number one shop P. Louise has taken the makeup market by storm with its bold formulas, pink-everything packaging, and disruptive marketing tactics. Best known for its eyeshadow base, lip duos, and liquid blush, the brand now stocks over 200 different product lines.

Experiences Beyond Shopping

Makeup artists and entertainers are on-site to help customers try on and shop, along with a dermatologist inside the 'makeup medic' for skincare needs. Shoppers can explore stands, enjoy coffee or a bite to eat, and even make their own lip gloss and face wash. Upstairs, private party spaces can be booked via the P. Louise website, and a restaurant is set to be installed later this month. The brand says children and over 18s will be catered for with various events and experiences.

Founder's Vision

Paige Williams said: "We have had opportunities to go into retail before but I have always said we'd only do it if we could do it our way. Launching in Boots was a huge milestone for us because it brought P. Louise to the high street for the very first time, but P. Louise City takes that experience to another level. This isn’t just a store, it is our world brought to life."

Admitting to going "massively over budget", Paige added: "Probably the reason we don't have investors is because if I presented this to an investor, it doesn't actually make sense what we're doing. It doesn't maths. I don't think I would have ever seen anything like this at 10 years old so I would be blown away."

Location and Anticipation

The grand opening is expected to draw queues snaking around Trafford Palazzo, located next to the Trafford Centre and connected by a pedestrian bridge. It is roughly a 50-minute drive from Liverpool via the M62. Paige said: "We had an offer to make us number one US shop and we said no. It's not right for us. We're doing Manchester first. And we're gonna learn so much from opening these doors. I'm a Manchester girl through and through."
