Huge Argentina Explosion Injures 20, Filmed from Plane
Argentina industrial explosion injures over 20

A dramatic video captured from a passenger plane shows the moment a huge explosion ripped through an industrial park in Argentina, sending a massive plume of smoke into the sky.

Explosion Rocks Petrochemical Complex

The powerful blast occurred on Saturday, 15 November, at an industrial complex in the area of Carlos Spegazzini in Argentina's Buenos Aires province. The location is known for its petrochemical operations.

The force of the explosion and the subsequent large fire resulted in over 20 injuries and caused significant damage to several buildings within the complex.

Firefighting Efforts and Scale of the Blaze

The inferno generated enormous clouds of smoke that were visible from the air, with a passenger on an aeroplane filming the dramatic scene. Dozens of fire crews were urgently deployed to the site to battle the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.

The scale of the incident was such that the towering column of smoke served as a stark visual marker of the destruction below, highlighting the severity of the industrial accident.

Proximity to Major Airport

Adding to the concern was the industrial complex's location, situated approximately 15 kilometres from Ezeiza Airport, a major international gateway to Argentina. The proximity to a key transport hub underscores the potential risks associated with industrial operations near populated and critical infrastructure areas.

Authorities are now focused on controlling the fire and treating the injured while an investigation into the cause of the explosion is expected to begin.
