Winger Priority
Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz have already signed, but a marquee winger remains the top priority. Bradley Barcola is Liverpool's number one target after the 23-year-old rejected a new contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain. However, PSG's reported £140m asking price is a stumbling block, and Liverpool are seeking a middle ground in negotiations this week.
If a deal is struck, Iraola would gain one of the most electrifying attackers in the world, capable of playing on either flank. Should the move fail, Chelsea's Pedro Neto is a fallback option—Premier League-proven and likely cheaper.
Defensive Reinforcements Needed
With Ibrahima Konate leaving and injuries to Joe Gomez, Giovanni Leoni, and Conor Bradley, Liverpool's defence is thin. Joe Gomez recently withdrew from a pre-season friendly, and new signing Jacquet was omitted as a precaution. Iraola acknowledged the need for a "solution" at centre-back and right-back.
James Hill, who flourished under Iraola at Bournemouth, is the logical target. The defender made 29 league appearances, winning 65.5% of aerial duels and 63.8% of overall duels, while also creating chances from the back. He can play both centre-back and right-back, suiting Liverpool's needs. Hill would add depth and fill a homegrown slot.
With Barcola and Hill on board, Liverpool would have a squad capable of bouncing back and challenging for titles.
