British Gas is giving customers the chance to win five years' worth of free electricity during this Saturday's World Cup quarter-final. The energy provider will award £4,400 worth of electricity for each goal England scores against Norway, with all British Gas customers automatically entered into the prize draw. Winners will be selected at random after the final whistle.
How the Prize Works
For every goal England scores in the match, one customer will win £4,400 worth of electricity, equivalent to about five years of average usage. The promotion follows a successful competition last weekend, where England's three goals against Mexico meant three customers each won the £4,400 prize.
A British Gas spokesperson said: "There's nothing quite like getting behind England together, and we wanted to give our customers another reason to celebrate every goal this weekend. We're always looking for ways to give back to our customers, whether that's through prizes, rewards or helping them save money at home."
Previous Winners React
One winner, Terrence from Nottingham, said: "This is fantastic news. As a pensioner, this will make a huge difference and help me enormously. I'd like to thank British Gas for the call and for this amazing prize." Another winner, Sophie, a mum of two from Kent, said: "Ecstatic!! I've never won anything in my life. I'm speechless."
