Salah's Agent Dismisses Transfer Rumours After Liverpool Exit

Ramy Abbas, the combative Colombian solicitor who represents Mohamed Salah, has once again taken to social media to dismiss rampant speculation about his client's next destination after leaving Liverpool. In two recent posts on X, Abbas declared that all reports about Salah's future are baseless and warned against 'click-w****** attention seekers.'

Abbas Denies Knowledge of Salah's Next Move

On May 24, just hours after Salah played his 442nd and final game for Liverpool in a 1-1 draw with Brentford at Anfield, Abbas posted: 'We do not know where Mohamed will play next season. This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-w****** attention seekers.' He followed up on June 12: 'Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them.'

Abbas has been a frequent figure in Liverpool transfer sagas, often defending Salah during contract negotiations in 2022 and 2025. Despite Salah's departure, the intensity of speculation remains high, with the 34-year-old now a free agent.

Salah Focused on Egypt's World Cup Campaign

Since the season ended, Salah has prioritised Egypt's World Cup campaign in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Pharaohs were eliminated in heartbreaking fashion by world champions Argentina in a last-16 classic in Atlanta on Tuesday. Salah, greeted by hundreds of Egypt fans outside the team hotel after the match, is now expected to shift focus to his club future.

Fenerbahce Claim Confidence, But Abbas Dismisses

Ertan Torunogullari, the now-former executive of Fenerbahce, had publicly asserted that Salah was keen on joining the Turkish club. 'He was very keen on coming to Turkey. The meetings we had were extremely positive,' Torunogullari told Fotospor. 'We had established common ground with him on many issues, including his salary.' However, Abbas's posts are seen as an indirect dismissal of these claims, and a move to Turkey would be a major shock.

MLS and Saudi Pro League Possible Destinations

Former teammates believe Salah could join MLS, following stars like Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. San Diego FC, owned by British-Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Mansour, is a potential option. Mansour said in March: 'He's a great player, he's a great professional... As an Egyptian, it means a lot to me to see somebody that has maintained that level of professionalism.' The Saudi Pro League remains a strong contender, with Al-Ittihad having offered up to £150 million for Salah three years ago, a bid rejected by Liverpool's Fenway Sports Group.

Return to Italy or Champions League Ambitions

A return to Italy, where Salah played for Fiorentina and Roma, is possible if he seeks Champions League football. Serie A's slower pace and willingness to invest in older players make it a viable option. Salah scored 71 goals and provided 46 assists in the three seasons after Liverpool rejected the Saudi offer, including a title-winning campaign under Arne Slot in 2025.

As Salah processes Egypt's World Cup exit, his camp will soon turn to securing his next club. Abbas is expected to confirm any move with a forthright post.
