Mitchel Frame Credits Brother's Fitness Regime for Aberdeen Success
Mitchel Frame Credits Brother for Aberdeen Fitness Boost

Aberdeen defender Mitchel Frame has opened up about the secret weapon behind his rapid development at Pittodrie: his brother Greg. The left-back has been working closely with his older sibling, a qualified personal trainer, to enhance his speed, power, and overall fitness ahead of the new season.

Brotherly Bond Boosts Performance

Frame revealed that Greg, who studied at Robert Gordon's University in Aberdeen, designed a bespoke training programme to help him settle both on and off the pitch. 'It definitely helped me settle,' said Frame. 'I tell him the areas where I want to improve and Greg puts programmes in place for me.' The results have been tangible, with Frame noting improvements in his top speed and strength.

Focus on Physicality

While speed remains a key asset, the Scotland under-21 international acknowledges the need to build physicality for the men's game. 'When you are playing in the men's game it is a lot more physical and you need to be stronger,' he explained. Regular testing every four weeks shows consistent progress, with stats improving each time.

Greg Frame, who also worked with Scottish Rugby, has now graduated in Sport and Exercise Science and launched Frame Athletic Performance in Ayrshire, offering pre-season programmes for football and rugby players.

Breakthrough Season at Aberdeen

Frame joined Aberdeen under Jimmy Thelin but had to wait for his debut until interim boss Peter Leven gave him a chance. He then flourished under Stephen Robinson, making 20 senior appearances, providing four assists, and scoring his first goal against Livingston. Despite his attacking prowess, Frame is focused on improving defensively. 'Sometimes my positioning can be a wee bit off, so I'd still need to work on that,' he admitted.

The defender is determined to become a complete player, aiming to deliver more crosses, goals, and assists. With his brother's guidance, Frame is confident of reaching new heights in the upcoming season.
