15-Year-Old Apprentice Dies After Air Compressor 'Prank' Explodes Intestines
Boy, 15, dies after air compressor prank explodes intestines

Tragic Death of a Teenage Apprentice

A 15-year-old boy has died from catastrophic internal injuries after what his co-workers are claiming was a horrific practical joke gone wrong. Muhammed Kendirci, a carpentry apprentice from Turkey, succumbed to his injuries in hospital five days after the alleged assault at his workplace.

The Horrific Incident

The court heard that the teenager was allegedly overpowered by his colleagues, including his employer, Habip Aksoy. They are accused of tying his hands, forcibly removing his trousers, and inserting a high-pressure air compressor tube into his rectum. The powerful blast of compressed air caused his intestines to rupture, leading to irreparable organ damage.

Kendirci was rushed to Harran University Research and Application Hospital but could not be saved. Habip Aksoy was initially detained by police, released on bail, and later arrested again as the investigation continues. The specific charges he will face are still to be determined.

A Disturbing Pattern of Fatal 'Pranks'

This is not an isolated incident. The use of high-pressure air tools in fatal assaults has been documented in similar cases around the world.

  • In 2023, 16-year-old Motilal Sahu died in a factory in Hadapsar, India, after a colleague, Dheerajsingh Goud, 21, thrust a compressed air tube into his rectum "for fun," causing devastating internal wounds.
  • In 2017, 17-year-old car wash worker Wesner Moreira da Silva died in an almost identical manner after his intestines were ruptured by a high-pressure hose. Two men, Thiago Giovanni Demarco Sena and Willian Enrique Larrea, were convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering the young man and received prison sentences exceeding 12 years.

These tragedies highlight the extreme dangers of high-pressure air equipment and the devastating consequences of what perpetrators dismiss as mere workplace horseplay. They raise serious questions about workplace safety and the protection of young, vulnerable workers in various industries.
