Former Big Brother star George Gilbert has alleged he was dismissed from his position as a school caretaker following complaints about his controversial behaviour on the ITV reality series.
The Controversial Big Brother Exit
George Gilbert participated in the 2025 series of Big Brother but was removed by ITV bosses for what they described as "repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour". The Essex-based parish councillor, who wasn't shy about sharing his political opinions, frequently clashed with fellow housemates over his support for Nigel Farage and Reform UK.
His time in the house was marked by several incidents, including receiving a formal warning after performing a homophobic impression of housemate Sam Ashby, which reduced them to tears. Gilbert was eventually removed from the programme after making comments so offensive that producers deemed them unsuitable for broadcast.
Losing the Cleaning Job
Now, Gilbert claims the controversy has cost him his livelihood outside the famous house. Speaking on Andre Walker's TalkTV show, he revealed that he had been told not to return to his job as a school caretaker after just two shifts.
"I had this cleaning job and it took me just two shifts before some teacher got in touch with the agency that I was working for and said, 'We don't want George back on the school premises because of his offensive language used in Big Brother,'" Gilbert stated during the interview.
He expressed his frustration, claiming he was being "cancelled" and directly linking his dismissal to his television appearance. "I got sacked, Andre. Cancelled from the show for some b******* reason, pardon my French, and now I can't even be a b***** school cleaner," he added.
The Offensive Remarks Revealed
According to reports, Gilbert received several warnings about his language that weren't broadcast. Following his removal from the house, it emerged that the final decision was taken after Gilbert used anti-semitic language.
On his YouTube channel, Gilbert provided more detail about the incidents that led to his removal. He disclosed that he received his first verbal warning after making comments where he referred to Adolf Hitler as "misguided". He received another warning after telling a fellow housemate that he wouldn't want to have a child with a Black woman because "the gingerness would die a death".
Gilbert did not appear on the companion show Big Brother: Late and Live following his exit, breaking with the usual format for evicted housemates. The 2025 series of Big Brother has since concluded, with composer and author Richard Storry becoming the oldest winner in the show's history at age 60.
