Andy Murray's Cromlix Hotel hiring housekeeping assistant

Cromlix Hotel, the Scottish estate owned by tennis star Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim, is recruiting a full-time housekeeping and turndown assistant. The role, advertised on SimplyHired, is described as a "fantastic opportunity" for those pursuing a career in hospitality.

The hotel, located in the village of Kinbuck near Dunblane, was acquired by Andy and Kim in 2013 and has since been developed for future generations. It recently earned two Michelin Guide hotel keys, a rating the team aims to uphold through meticulous attention to detail.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be paid £14 per hour plus £2,000 per annum in gratuities. Duties include replacing guest amenities, making beds, folding sheets, removing trash and dirty linens, vacuuming, polishing, and greeting guests while handling their requests.

Staff will also perform turndown duties in the early evening, preparing rooms for a comfortable night's sleep, including arranging the bed and setting the room's ambience. Shifts vary between four and six hours, with evening and weekend availability required.

Benefits and Background

Benefits include monthly gratuities, free meals while on duty, pension contributions, free training, and discounts for friends and family on accommodation and dining at Cromlix and associated hotels. The hotel seeks a team-first attitude and commitment to personal development.

Kim and Andy Murray bought the estate over a decade ago, where Andy's grandparents, Roy and Shirley Erskine, were married in 1982. The couple also held their own wedding at the hotel in 2015. Kim plays a creative role in shaping the Cromlix experience, contributing to the second Michelin Key awarded in 2026, making it one of only four hotels in Scotland with this honour.

The team shared the achievement on Instagram, writing: "We are thrilled to announce that we have received our second MICHELIN Key, placing us as one of just four hotels in Scotland to hold this remarkable honour." Further details on the vacancy are available on the SimplyHired website.
