Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is facing significant selection dilemmas as the Reds prepare for a crucial Champions League clash against Galatasaray on Tuesday. The team suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday, their first Premier League loss of the season, with Eddie Nketiah scoring deep into stoppage time after Federico Chiesa had equalised.
Slot has rotated heavily in recent weeks and is expected to continue that trend. Right-back remains a problem position, with neither Conor Bradley nor Jeremie Frimpong establishing themselves. Dominik Szoboszlai has impressed when playing out of position, while Joe Gomez offers another option. At centre-back, Ibrahima Konate struggled alongside Virgil van Dijk at Palace, and Wataru Endo could feature there with Giovanni Leoni out for the season.
On the left, Milos Kerkez has edged ahead of Andy Robertson, though Robertson has started both midweek games this campaign. Alisson Becker remains the undisputed number one goalkeeper, with Giorgi Mamardashvili as deputy.
In midfield, Florian Wirtz operated in a free role at the weekend before reverting to number 10. He faces competition from Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones. Alexis Mac Allister is still regaining sharpness after injury, with Szoboszlai, Jones, and Endo alternatives alongside Ryan Gravenberch.
Up front, Hugo Ekitike is available after suspension, and Federico Chiesa is now in the Champions League squad. Slot must decide whether to start Ekitike or Alexander Isak, who played 84 minutes at Palace. Chiesa could also replace Mohamed Salah on the right after a poor performance. Cody Gakpo is pushing for a recall on the left, while Rio Ngumoha continues to get minutes from the bench.
