Graham Norton, the 63-year-old Irish broadcaster and author, is set to host a new ITV reality show, The Neighbourhood. The 11-part series, filmed in the Peak District, sees families compete for a £250,000 cash prize. But away from the cameras, Norton owns a coastal home in West Cork, Ireland, where he celebrated his wedding to husband Jonathan McLeod.
Norton grew up in Bandon, Cork, and in 2003 bought a 4,000-square-foot house in the seaside village of Ahakista, overlooking Dunmanus Bay. He uses it as a summer home. “It is a paradise. I love it,” he told The Irish Times. “There is no denying it is a gorgeous part of the world.” He and Jonathan married at nearby Bantry House and hosted a party at the Ahakista property.
Last year, Norton sold his East London mansion, a four-bedroom townhouse in Wapping overlooking the River Thames, for just under £5m. He also reportedly put his New York property on the market. “My favourite times have definitely been enjoying a drink sitting by the river on a summer’s evening,” he told The Sunday Times. He is believed to still own a London property.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Norton’s fortune is estimated at £30 million. BBC figures from 2019-2020 showed he earned between £725,000 and £729,999, covering his Radio 2 show, various programmes, and the Bafta film and TV awards.
The Neighbourhood starts Friday, April 24 at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
