Galloway: End wokery, greenery and quackery to rebuild Britain

George Galloway, leader of the Workers Party of Great Britain and candidate for the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, has called for an end to “wokery, greenery and quackery” and to “crawling to the madness of Donald Trump”.

A call for a blitz-spirit

Writing in a comment piece, Galloway said Britain can rebuild again, noting that “our people made ships of steel when the Americans were still cowboys” and that the Industrial Revolution “changed the world for ever”. He argued the country needs a “blitz-spirit of which London was the beating heart”.

He said the country needs to be rid of “an anti-British government selling out our pensioners to fund the NATO war machine, crawling to the madness of Donald Trump”, and called for “an end to wokery, greenery and quackery”.

Common Sense socialism and Brexit

Galloway called for unity on “vital national priorities” and an end to division along identity politics, saying that while people have multiple identities, “the one that matters most today is that we are subjects of a fading failing Ealing comedy state”. He described the establishment as “a rotten establishment of losers in danger of sinking our ship with the loss of all hands”.

He set out a programme of “Common Sense socialism”, including free speech, banking “FOR Britain not the bankers”, industrial priorities to rebuild Britain, food and energy security, and public ownership of “a powerful British Energy Corporation”. He argued that “Brexit has failed because we have not used it to do the things we are now free to do”, such as buying British, quantitative easing for investment in production, and an independent foreign policy.

Crime and a call for leadership

Galloway said London is “still a world class brand” but is being dragged down by crime, adding that there are “criminals in the Palace, at Westminster and in Whitehall”. He criticised police for being “on TikTok and policing Twitter instead of catching crooks” and noted a lack of jails to hold them.

He said Britain needs “a Cromwell who will go into the hive of scum and villainy and clean it out”, and claimed there has “never been a darker moment on this island since the skies over London were black with bombers and the city was burning”. He recalled that at that point Britain united under a national unity prime minister, put aside differences with Soviet Russia, and “saved not only ourselves but helped to save the world”, concluding that “we can do it again”.

Galloway is the Workers Party of Great Britain candidate for the Holborn and St Pancras by-election on Thursday, October 8.
