The Dacia Duster has been named the best small 4x4 currently on sale in the UK by motoring experts at Auto Express. The four-wheel-drive version, priced at £24,095, was praised for its comfort, space, and well-designed interior, with testers describing it as 'genuinely desirable'.
However, the Duster was not without its shortcomings. Reviewers noted its high boot lip, disappointing Euro NCAP safety rating, and noticeable wind noise at motorway speeds.
Second place went to the fully electric Volvo EX30 P8 AWD, priced at £42,360, which was lauded for its performance, efficiency, and stylish interior. Critics pointed out its limited practicality and fiddly infotainment system. Third place was claimed by the £46,196 Toyota GR Yaris, praised for its real-world usability and punchy power delivery, but criticised for its firm ride, high price, and cramped rear seats.
The top three highlight the diverse range of four-wheel-drive vehicles available, catering to different budgets, preferences, and powertrains, from value-oriented models to high-performance offerings.
