Ollie Bearman is refusing to put a timeline on his Ferrari dream, insisting he is focused on his current form with Haas. The 21-year-old British driver has impressed this season, scoring 18 points in the first five races including a fifth-place finish in China.
Bearman, a Ferrari academy driver, made his F1 debut as a last-minute replacement for Carlos Sainz at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, finishing seventh. He remains contracted to Ferrari but is in no rush to secure a seat with the Italian team.
“There’s no dates that I need to be doing X, I don’t really care about that,” Bearman told the Press Association. “My ultimate target is to be with them, but at the moment the goal is to continue building with Haas.”
The driver market is expected to heat up mid-season, with several contracts expiring and questions over Max Verstappen’s future. Bearman, who claimed fourth in Mexico City last year, is consistently outperforming teammate Esteban Ocon.
“I feel like I’m ready whenever anything happens,” Bearman said. “It’s been a big step from 12 months ago. I’m definitely improving in terms of consistency.”
Despite speculation linking him to replace Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, Bearman remains grounded. “It’s not going to improve my performance by losing focus on these rumours,” he added.
