Angela Scanlon's Rarely-Seen Husband and Family Life

Angela Scanlon, the Irish TV presenter currently co-hosting the BBC's Eurovision Song Contest coverage, has a happy family life away from the cameras. The 42-year-old, originally from County Meath, now lives in London with her husband Roy Horgan, whom she married in 2014.

Married Life

While Angela keeps fans updated with snippets of her family life on Instagram, her husband prefers to stay out of the limelight and is rarely seen in photographs. Roy, from Co Cork, is the CEO of SES-imagotag plc for the UK and Ireland. On their fourth anniversary, Angela shared a picture from their wedding day, captioning it: "Four years ago today, I married this absolute nugget of a human under a tree with all our favourite people heckling. The kindest, smartest, most stubborn man I know. The yin to my yang. The steak to my tofu (or something)... My [world emoji]." Angela also posts humorous videos titled 'Things my husband hates but I love and am not getting rid of', including one where she tries on a glittery shawl and blue skirt.

Children

In February 2018, the couple welcomed their eldest daughter, Ruby Ellen, followed by Marnie Fae in February 2022. Announcing Marnie's birth on Instagram, Angela wrote: "Marnie Fae Horgan 11.2.22 [sparkle emoji] Chapped lips & chapped nips can only mean one thing… Our little woman has arrived!! We are besotted." Angela, who has spoken about her 15-year battle with anorexia and bulimia, shared how motherhood improved her mental and physical health. "Before I had kids, my approach was very much that my body was to be preened, presented and punished," she told The Mirror. "But having children changed how I viewed my body and I became more compassionate, more appreciative and more in awe of what it does every single day."
