Wawa Recalls Drinks Over Milk Allergen Risk in Five States

Wawa has recalled four of its drinks due to a potential health risk to customers with a milk allergy. The recall affects select 16-ounce pints of Wawa-branded Lemon Iced Tea, Diet Lemon Iced Tea, Diet Lemonade and Fruit Punch, according to a press release shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The beverages may contain undeclared milk, posing a serious or life-threatening risk for those with a milk allergy or sensitivity. Wawa initiated the recall after identifying and correcting a temporary equipment issue that may have led to the presence of milk in these drinks, even though it is not listed on the label.

The affected drinks were sold at Wawa stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia. Impacted beverages have been removed from shelves. Specific UPC codes and code dates are provided for identification: Lemon Iced Tea (UPC 726191018425, code date May 15, 2026), Diet Lemon Iced Tea (UPC 726191018548, code date May 18, 2026), Diet Lemonade (UPC 726191055901, code date May 18, 2026) and Fruit Punch (UPC 726191018432, code date May 19, 2026).

No illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased the drinks are urged to throw them away immediately or contact Wawa for a full refund. Milk is one of the nine major food allergens in the U.S., and reactions can range from hives to life-threatening anaphylaxis.
