Filtered water in a small London flat can feel like more hassle than it is worth, but Waterdrop's glass pitcher and plug-in M6HG instant hot reverse osmosis system made cleaner-tasting water effortless, according to a first-hand review.
Andréa Oldereide, a senior reporter, tested the setup and found it changed her daily routine. She admitted she used to think filtered water was "nice in theory" but never quite stuck, having accepted chlorinated tap water as part of city life.
Glass pitcher makes filtered water routine easy
Oldereide started with the Waterdrop Glass Water Filter Pitcher, a reusable glass pitcher designed for home, office, or on-the-go use. The biggest difference was not a dramatic "miracle" moment but how easy it made the routine. Having cold, filtered water ready in a pitcher she liked leaving out on the counter meant she drank more water without thinking about it.
Because it is glass, it felt like a more reusable, everyday alternative to buying bottled water, which she is trying to cut down on anyway.
M6HG brings serious filtration and instant hot water
The real upgrade was the Waterdrop Filter M6HG Mineralized Instant Hot Reverse Osmosis System, a countertop RO unit designed to be installation-free. The standout feature is the 1.2L detachable glass pitcher, which Oldereide found useful for filling, carrying to her desk, keeping in the fridge, using when cooking, and topping up the pet bowl.
Waterdrop says the M6HG uses 8-stage RO filtration with UV sterilisation and reduces a long list of substances including TDS, PFOA, PFOS, nitrate, fluoride, arsenic, lead, copper, turbidity and chlorine. Oldereide noted the water tastes noticeably cleaner and she feels more confident using it every day.
The instant hot water feature offers five preset temperatures from room temperature up to 95°C, which became a shortcut for tea and coffee. There is also a smart favourite mode to save the temperature and volume used most.
Practical design and cost considerations
Oldereide appreciated Waterdrop's claim of 100% separation of pure and waste water, with the waste water reusable for mopping or watering plants. The unit measures 40.3D x 23.5W x 36.9H cm and weighs 10.3kg, making it countertop-friendly despite not being tiny.
It is rated at 284L/day, has NSF/ANSI 58 and 372 certification, and the M6RFG filter has a 12-month lifespan. The Waterdrop M6HG costs £429 on Amazon UK, with prices changing depending on discounts and campaigns.
Waterdrop also mentioned other options in its range, including the CT 01 electric countertop heating and cooling water kettle, plus coffee machine filter cartridges to test alongside a home coffee machine.
