Walkers sharing box recalled over undeclared wheat allergen

PepsiCo is recalling the Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box, a 655g box containing six packets, because the outer packaging does not declare that the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g pack contains wheat (gluten). This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease.

Why the product is being recalled

In its warning notice, PepsiCo stated: "Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box 655g is being recalled because wheat is not declared on the outer box. The outer box does not have the correct ingredients or allergy information for the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g."

The company added: "The box does not say that this product contains wheat, so it may pose a risk to people with an allergy or intolerance wheat or with coeliac disease. Please note: the individual bags inside the box are correctly labelled."
