PepsiCo has recalled its Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box after it was found to contain undeclared wheat gluten, prompting a warning from the UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA). The affected product could pose a health risk to people with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease.
Recall Details and Reason
The recall applies to the 655g sharing box (6 packs) with batch code 107543 and a best before date of November 21 2026. The issue is that the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g pack inside contains wheat (gluten), which is not declared on the outer packaging of the sharing box.
The FSA stated: "This product contains gluten making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease."
Company Statement and Advice
PepsiCo said in a statement: "The outer box does not have the correct ingredients or allergy information for the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g. The box does not say that this product contains wheat, so it may pose a risk to people with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or with coeliac disease." The company noted that the individual bags inside are correctly labelled.
PepsiCo has been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations to inform their members about the recall. The firm has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. The snacks were available on Iceland's website for £10, where the item is now listed as 'unavailable'.

The FSA advised: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten or have coeliac disease, do not eat it. Instead, please call the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line on 0800274777 or visit contact.pepsico.com/walkers to receive a full refund."
