The 2.8 D-4D 150 Series Land Cruiser measures 1,885mm wide, slightly smaller than the Defender's 2,000mm. The Defender delivers 246bhp from its 3.0-litre engine, reaching 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds, while the Land Cruiser's 2.8-litre engine produces 201bhp, achieving 0-62mph in 9.9 seconds.
Fuel Economy and Reliability
The Defender has a fuel economy of around 33mpg, compared to the Land Cruiser's 117mpg. However, Toyota leads in reliability, being named the most reliable car brand by Warranty Solutions Group. Older Land Cruiser models may qualify for a 10-year or 100,000-mile warranty, while Land Rover offers a three-year or 60,000-mile warranty on new vehicles.

Despite having a less flashy interior and lower performance, the Land Cruiser is the closest 4x4 to a Land Rover for under £30,000 and remains a top buy for anyone in the market for a 4x4 this July.
