Officials in Toronto have unveiled six soccer-themed condom designs as the city prepares to welcome fans for the upcoming World Cup. Toronto is one of 16 host cities across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, with BMO Field set to host six matches featuring teams such as Canada, Germany, Croatia, and Iraq.
Free Safer Sex Supplies
With the city expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe, Toronto Public Health is distributing free 'safer sex supplies,' including these limited-edition condoms. 'Whether you're attending a soccer match, a watch party, hitting a summer festival, or partying, remember that condoms protect the health of you and your partner(s),' officials stated.
Game Day Line-Up
The 'game day line-up' features six designs with playful names such as 'What a finish!', 'Block those shots!', and 'Ohhh, Canada'—a twist on the country's national anthem. These condoms are part of a broader campaign to promote safer sex, reduce stigma, and connect people with sexual health services.
They will be available for free at clinics and sites throughout the city 'while supplies last.' This is not the first time Toronto has offered creative contraception; previously, the city released Toronto-themed condom wrappers with messages like 'ride responsibly' and 'cover your lumber, Jack.'
Canada will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first match in Toronto this summer, followed by Ghana vs. Panama, Germany vs. Ivory Coast, Croatia vs. Panama, and Senegal vs. Iraq. BMO Field will also host a round-of-32 game on July 2.
