Emergency services are dealing with a chemical incident on Lenzie Terrace in the Springburn area of Glasgow. The alarm was raised at approximately 3:30pm on Sunday, May 31, prompting a major response from police, ambulance, and fire crews.
A cordon has been put in place, and nearby homes have been evacuated as a precaution. Witnesses reported seeing emergency personnel in bright yellow hazmat suits entering a block of flats on the street. The area remains sealed off, and residents have been advised to stay indoors.
One local resident said: "The street is completely blocked off and some of us aren’t even allowed to leave the house." Police have asked members of the public to avoid the area.
