A popular beauty product sold on TikTok Shop has been urgently recalled due to a serious chemical risk. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) confirmed that the Acrylic Nail Art Kit with UV LED Lamp & Gel Polish Set contains a substance banned from cosmetics because it may cause cancer in humans.
The kit includes 12 pots of glitter acrylic powder, a bottle of EMA liquid, an electrical curing lamp, a hand rest, and assorted accessories. It fails to comply with The Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, as it contains 4-Vinylcyclohexene, a substance possibly carcinogenic to humans.
Consumers who have purchased the product are advised to stop using it immediately and contact the retailer for redress. The product page has been removed from TikTok Shop, and the OPSS has issued a recall from end users.
