A little-known app is helping diners save money on restaurant bills amid the cost of living crisis. First Table offers 50% off the food bill for the first table at breakfast, lunch or dinner at participating venues across the UK.
Liverpool Echo writer Hannah Rees saved £20 on her meal after using the app at The Real Greek in Liverpool ONE. She and her partner paid a £6 reservation fee and received half off their food, bringing the total from roughly £52 to £33.77 including service charge.
Users browse available first tables up to 14 days in advance, book a slot for £4 to £8, and get 50% off food for two, three or four diners. Drinks are always full price, and the offer is dine-in only. Some menu items like sharing platters may be excluded.
Rees said the app encouraged her to try somewhere new and praised its filters for cuisine, dietary needs, and suitability for kids or business meetings. She plans to use it again for cheaper weekday dining.
