Ryanair Warns Passengers on Small Bag Policy for Bookings

Ryanair has issued a warning to passengers who have existing bookings and plan to travel with only a small bag. The budget airline, known for its no-frills service, has sent an alert to customers regarding upcoming flights. The message specifically targets those intending to bring only the complimentary 'personal bag' included with every ticket.

Gate Charges for Oversized Bags

The alert states: 'If you arrive at the gate with a Cabin Bag that exceeds (40x30x20cm) and don't have Priority, you will be charged an extra baggage fee.' This means passengers without Priority boarding who bring a bag larger than the permitted personal item size could face unexpected costs.

Standard Baggage Allowance

Ryanair's standard fare covers just one small personal item designed to fit under the seat in front of you. For those needing more luggage, several options are available. Passengers can choose 'Priority & 2 Cabin Bags', which allows a small personal item plus a 10kg bag (55x40x20cm) to be stored in the overhead bin, along with priority boarding. Additional checked baggage allowances are also offered, with fees depending on size.

It is important to note that purchasing a checked bag does not automatically entitle you to bring a 10kg cabin bag on board. They are separate allowances.

Traveling with Infants

For passengers traveling with an infant under two years old (sitting on a parent's lap), no additional standard baggage is provided. However, they are allowed to bring a 5kg baby bag and two items of baby equipment at no extra cost.

Ryanair encourages customers to review their booking details and consider upgrading to avoid potential charges at the airport.
