Popeyes has brought back its Ghost Pepper Boneless chicken pieces for Halloween, and according to one reviewer, the heat level is no joke. The chicken, made with ghost pepper sourced from India, is described as one of the hottest fast food offerings available.
Danielle Kate Wroe, a senior social news reporter, tried the chicken via delivery and was surprised by the intensity. Despite arriving cold, the chicken still delivered a significant spicy kick. "I was shocked by just how spicy the chicken was on the first bite," she wrote.
Adding Louisiana Hot Dip took the heat to another level. "My mouth was on fire," Wroe noted, adding that the sauce enhanced the flavour and spiciness. Dave Hoskins, Head of Food at Popeyes UK, said the chain listened to fans and brought back the range "bigger and better" for Halloween.
Hoskins highlighted that ghost pepper offers "ultimate heat-factor" with earthy and smoky flavours, and recommended the Louisiana Hot Dip for those who dare. The reviewer concluded that the chicken was a rare success from a fast food chain in delivering on its spicy promises.
