Oppo Find X9 Ultra 'best camera phone ever' gets £177 discount

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra, which experts have called 'the best camera phone ever made', is now available for a total cost of £1,271.96 through Mobiles.co.uk, making it more than £170 cheaper than buying the handset directly from Oppo.

The smartphone is offered on a £44.99 per month plan with an upfront cost of £149. Factoring in monthly price increases in April 2027 and 2028, the total cost to own the phone comes to £1,271.96. This compares with a price tag of £1,449 for the Find X9 Ultra on the Oppo website.

The plan includes 100GB of 5G data per month and unlimited minutes and texts with ID Mobile, along with free data rollover and no additional cost in 50 roaming destinations worldwide.

Five 'exceptional' cameras

The monthly contract price with ID Mobile will increase to £46.79 from April 2027, and then to £48.59 in April 2028. While the Find X9 Ultra is pricier than the iPhone 18 Pro, which starts at £1,199, it offers features that tech lovers and photographers may feel are worth the extra investment.

Upon its release in April 2026, Digital Camera World described the Oppo Find X9 Ultra as 'the new king of phone photography', calling it 'the closest phone yet to a real camera in your pocket'. This is thanks to its five 'exceptional' cameras - one on the front and main, telephoto, ultra-telephoto and ultra-wide on the back.

Oppo partnered with camera manufacturer Hasselblad for the Find X9 Ultra, resulting in what Tech Radar branded 'simply the best camera phone ever made'. The phone features a 7,050mAh battery, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

'Obliterates the competition'

The phone has earned strong reviews from shoppers. One user called it a 'masterpiece', writing: "After spending two weeks with the Oppo Find 9X Ultra, I can say with absolute certainty - this smartphone obliterates the competition. The overall design is spot-on. The 10x periscope telephoto lens turns distant objects into frame-filling marvels and the 200MP sensors capture an unfathomable amount of detail."

Another customer shared: "I've been using iPhones since 2007, so switching was a big deal for me. What finally got me over the line was all the great reviews on YouTube, and I have to say, I'm glad I made the jump. I'm a hobby landscape photographer, and I don't always have my camera gear with me. That's really why I bought this phone."

Tech Radar did note: "The trade-off here is that this phone is large, heavy, and expensive. It won't be for everyone, but if you care about cameras more than anything else, you won't be disappointed with this one."

For a more budget-friendly option, PC Mag named the Google Pixel 11 as the best Android camera phone for most people in 2026, crediting the 'incredible results' from its three cameras combined with Google's image processing. The Google Pixel 11 is currently available SIM-free from Argos for £879.
