Nationwide expands dementia clinics across UK branches

Nationwide Building Society is continuing the expansion of its dementia clinics, following trial sessions held at all 12 Virgin Money branches across Northern England and Scotland.

The free, confidential 45-minute appointments give people the opportunity to speak with an admiral nurse about dementia, covering symptoms, local support and how to care for someone with the condition.

Positive feedback drives scheduling

The building society said the trial had received positive feedback, with further clinic dates now being scheduled as part of the ongoing project.

Charlotte Kensett, director of social impact for Nationwide, said: "Too often, families only start thinking about finances when dementia has already reached a crisis point. Having conversations and putting plans in place earlier can help ensure a person's wishes are understood, reduce uncertainty for loved ones and make managing the challenges ahead that little bit easier."

Expansion across the UK

Dementia clinics are now available at more than 250 Nationwide branches across the UK, with over 8,700 appointments booked since the service launched in 2024.
